This painting is known in three other painted versions (one, Waddesdon Manor; another formerly with Georges Wildenstein, Paris; a third in a sale at Ball & Graupe, Berlin, 26-27 February 1932, lot 12). A red chalk drawing, visually similar, appeared in the sale of Christie's, Old Master Drawings, 30 January, 1997, lot 198.
